September Sapphires

The word sapphire comes from the Latin and Greek words for “blue”: sapphirus and sappheiros. Understandably, they are thought of to be a deep blue color. However, due variances in mineral composition, they come in a rich variety of colors! All of which hold various meanings.

BLUE

Classic blue sapphires contain iron and titanium. Commonly associated with loyalty and dignity, blue Sapphires are a favorite gemstone for royalty, cue Kate Middleton’s engagement ring!

PINK

WHITE

Sapphires contain iron and titanium, trace elements of chromium turn the gem pink! Pink sapphires believed to hold special power thus symbolizing trust, loyalty, and sincerity.

A natural white sapphire is rare compared to colored sapphire as they are made of pure corundum. It is said to bring the wearer wisdom and clarity.
